Learn about the members of our studio collective!

Audrey Long

Audrey is the first official member of the Astoria Makers Studio Collective, running her ceramics studio and programming out of space.  She has a tremendous amount of experience in the world of ceramics and Astoria is lucky to have her!  Audrey was born in Detroit, Michigan, and moved to Astoria in 2016.  She started playing in the dirt at an early age and never gave it up. In 2008 she received her BFA in Craft/Ceramics at the College for Creative Studies and joined the production vessel making team at historic Pewabic Pottery.  Soon after, Audrey began further exploring the technical aspects of ceramics and took a more active role instructing. Since then, she has managed ceramic education programs, overseen the funding and opening of a gallery, & taught a variety of classes; along with managing her own studio practice.  Audrey has shown both sculptural as well as functional work throughout the United States, and has done residencies at Bakehouse Art Complex in Miami, FL and Barro Clay in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. Currently, Audrey’s work has been increasingly focused on sculptural objects for everyday use. Although a ceramicist, she enjoys incorporating her design background with other media. Audrey is excited to be a part of Astoria Makers, a uniquely interdisciplinary space where she will share and grow with other artists in the coastal community.   Stay tuned to learn about classes and events in her space!
